Well, we finally got our little Kash home. She is just the most adorable thing you've ever seen. We got her a week before we were supposed to pick her up because I couldn't wait any longer, and she was old enough to go. The first night however was tough, for all of us.
At about 10:30 it was bedtime, so we decided to put her in one of those big bins with a blanket in it and some food, we put it right beside the bed (Andy called it the bassinette!).
So she TOTALLY freaked out for what seemed like forever but maybe it was 5-10 minutes, then I think she finally cried herself to sleep for a little while.
About midnight, she started crying ( not little wispers either) and trying to get out of the bin.So I picked her up and walked around the dark living room talking softly to her (just like I did if my nephews cried). So then, I thought I'd put her in the kitchen and barricade her in there so she couldn't get out. That worked until about 2:00 or 3:00 am, when it started again. I was awake, but very tired and maybe a touch on the cranky side. Andy can usually sleep through anything, but not me. But Andy was awake, and he finally got up for her this time.
He ended up taking the sleeping bag and spending the rest of the night on the floor with her in the living room. He is so sweet, he knew that I wouldn't be able to get to sleep if she didn't stop whining.
So we all had a little stressful first night together. Last night was better, she roamed through the house quite a bit checking things out. That's ok as long as she isn't crying. I did feel horrible, I even started to cry, she just missed her mom! Yeah, I'm a dork.

I give it a week and then she will totally take over the bed. Its only a matter of time.
We dog owners are an interesting bunch for sure. I am with Angela> give it a week and she will be spooning and bed hogging all night long!
NO dogs allowed in my bed, or on the furniture. I think it's yucky. Yes I am a hard ass!
Just in case nobody told you, you have to update your blog occasionally.
